The Kenyan Food Event (KFE) 2024, in collaboration with the Kenya Barista Organisation, is excited to present the Barista Competition as a key highlight of East Africa’s premier B2B exhibition for the food, beverage, and hospitality industry. Scheduled for September 4th, 2024, during the second day of the exhibition, this competition will take place at the Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.
Competition Categories
The Barista Competition will feature two dynamic categories:
- Championship: Participants will demonstrate their expertise in preparing a variety of espresso-based drinks, showcasing their skills and knowledge to a panel of esteemed judges.
- Latte Art Contest: Baristas will showcase their creativity and technical prowess by crafting intricate and visually stunning latte art designs.
Kenyan Food Event Bakers Contest
We are thrilled to announce the first-ever Kenyan Food Event Bakers Contest on the 3rd day of the Kenyan Food Event and Conference, on 5th September 2024. This contest will bring together talented bakers from across the region to showcase their skills and creativity in a thrilling baking competition.
The theme for this year’s contest is East African Heritage. Participants are expected to bring a pre-baked cake and decorate it onsite, drawing inspiration from the rich cultural traditions of East Africa. We encourage bakers who have been baking commercially for at least 2 years to participate, as this contest offers a unique platform to display your expertise and creativity.
The event is organized in collaboration with Bake Connect, with prizes generously provided by Sheffield Steel and East Africa Glassware Mart. Attendees can look forward to witnessing the fusion of tradition and modern baking artistry, as the region's best bakers compete for the Kenyan Food Event Bakers Contest Champion title.
This contest is set to have a significant impact on the baking community and the wider food sector in East Africa. By highlighting the region's rich culinary heritage and promoting excellence in baking, the event will foster innovation, inspire budding bakers, and strengthen the sense of community among professionals.
